Breeder : Robert & Moreau (Fr) 1881
Culture : This beautiful red climber has virtually disappeared from catalogs and that's a shame. He is a vigorous and healthy plant, very well resistant to diseases and blooming continuously throughout the season. The cherry red color of his large flowers (12 cm) is not common and what’s even more differentiating is his pronounced flavor. His buttons are tapered similar to Tea hybrid.
Uses : Walls, fences, arches.
Association : His beautiful cherry colors can be associated with purple, white or a whole range of rose plants. For us Albert La Blottais stands next to the Rambler Apple Blossom and their two blossoms combined attract all eyes and delight the sense of smell. A small clematis Viticella with pale pink flowers punctuates the scene.
Diseases : He is very resistant to disease and requires little care to thrive. He may even convert gardeners who have decided to do without treatment. For our part we are dealing preventively with Homeocult.
